Wear with Hope, Be Warmed by Love
This blog is an anthology of crochet beanie patterns created by me, Orange Blossoms Design, in honor of my dear friend Gracie. My hope is that you will use these patterns to bless someone in need and keep her memory alive.
The “Smooth and Shiny” beanies are meant to bless patients undergoing treatment for cancer or other medical illnesses. Yarns used are soft and non-irritating to a bare scalp, such as Caron Simply Soft, Loops and Thread Soft and Shiny, Red Heart Soft and Soft Essentials, and Lion Brand Heartland.
The “Thick and Toasty” beanies are meant to bless persons who are taking shelter in between homes, in permanent displacement, or just needing something to keep warm at night. Yarns used are Bernat Softee Chunky, Loops and Thread Charisma, Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick, and Lion Brand Hometown.
The “Fun with beanies” category are beanie patterns I created for kids. Great to make as gifts for young ones!
The “Holiday beanies” category are beanie patterns I created for kids for the holidays. Enjoy some festive fun with your littles!
The “Beanies for a cause” category are beanie patterns I created for various causes, such as Hat not Hate.
My hope is for you to donate these beanies to cancer centers, hospitals, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, or rescue missions. These patterns are not meant for sale or use to make beanies for sale or profit. I created this collection to honor the memory of my friend, Gracie. She was a selfless, loving, and beautiful soul who was taken from us way too soon. I realize that I cannot stop you from trying to make a profit from these patterns, but I hope that you will let your conscience be your guide.
