Sometimes, a Size 6 (super bulky) yarn can feel like a Size 5 (bulky) yarn or vice versa. Here is a variation of our pattern for a Thick and Toasty Gracie Beanie made with either a Size 5 (bulky) yarn or a Size 6 (super bulky) that really should have been labeled a Size 5

This beanie is made with stitches of a granny square sitting on top of a chain “throne” in the body of the hat. My friend Gracie’s nickname was “the Queen”, so this beanie is also known as the “Gracie Beanie” in her honor.
Stitches used:
ch- chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
granny stitch – 3 double crochet in the same space
sl st – slip stitch
st – stitch
