This beanie is made with Rows of Puff stitches down the body of the hat.

ch- chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
Puffed stitch –
ch 2, yarn over and insert hook to the same stitch, pull yarn through, yarn over and insert hook into the same stitch, pull yarn through, yarn over and interest hook into the same stitch, pull yarn through, and then pull yarn through all 7 loops
sk st – skip stitch
sl st – slip stitch
st – stitch
Hat Sizes:
X-small – 8” long and 17” flat circumference
Small – 8” long and 18” flat circumference
Medium – 8.5” long and 19” flat circumference
Large – 8.5” long and 20” flat circumference
Follow sizing in order of total stitch numbers listed in parentheses: (x-small, small, medium, large)
Using size 4 yarn (worsted or medium weight yarn) with a K-10.5 (6.5 mm) needle.
Ch 4 and loop to make a magic ring.
Row 1 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row) and then 11 (12,13,14) dc into the ring. Join with sl st to first dc (12,13,14,15 dc)
Row 2 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the same st as joining, and then 2 dc in each stitch all the way around to end. Join with sl st to first dc. (24, 26, 28, 30 dc)
Row 3 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in the next st, then repeat {2 dc in the next st, dc in the next st} to the end. Join with sl st to first dc. (36, 39, 42, 45 dc)
Row 4 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in the next 2 st, then repeat {2 dc in the next st, dc in the next 2 st} to the end. Join with sl st to first dc (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)
Row 5 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in each st all the way around. Join with sl st to first dc (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)
Row 6 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the next st, Puff stitch in the next stitch, then repeat {dc in the next 3 st, puff stitch in the next st} all the way to the end. Join with sl st to first dc. (48, 52, 56, 60 stitches)
Row 7-12 (for XS and S) and Rows 7-13 (for M and L) – repeat row 6 (48, 52, 56, 60 stitches)
Row 13 (for XS and S) and Row 14 (for M and L) – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in each st all the way around. Join with sl st to first dc (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)
Row 14 (for XS and S) and Row 15 (for M and L) – ch 1 (this counts as your first sc of the row), sc in each stitch all the way around to the end. Join with sl st to first sc and fasten off (48, 52, 56, 60 sc)
