Smooth and Shiny Interlocking Ribbed Cuff Beanie

This beanie is made with Loops and Threads Soft and Shiny yarn in Ginger Peach

This beanie is made by alternating Front Post Double Crochet stitches, staggering by rows, at the cuff.

Stitches used:

ch- chain

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

FPdc – front post double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st – stitch

Hat Sizes:

X-small – 8” long and 17” flat circumference

Small – 8” long and 18” flat circumference

Medium – 8.5” long and 19” flat circumference

Large – 8.5” long and 20” flat circumference

Using size 4 yarn (worsted or medium weight yarn) with a K-10.5 (6.5 mm) needle.  

Follow sizing by order in parentheses – (x-small, small, medium, large)

Ch 4 and loop to make a magic ring.

Row 1 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row) and then 11 (12,13,14)  dc into the ring.  Join with sl st to first dc (12,13,14,15 dc)

Row 2 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the same st as joining, and then 2 dc in each stitch all the way around to end.  Join with sl st to first dc. (24, 26, 28, 30 dc) 

Row 3 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in the next st, then repeat {2 dc in the next st, dc in the next st} to the end.  Join with sl st to first dc. (36, 39, 42, 45 dc)

Row 4 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in the next 2 st, then repeat {2 dc in the next st, dc in the next 2 st} to the end.  Join with sl st to first dc (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)

Row 5 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the same st as joining, dc in each st all the way around.  Join with sl st to first dc.  (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)

Rows 6-10 (for XS and S) or Rows 6-11 (for M and L)  –  repeat Row 5  (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)

Row 11 (for XS and S) or Row 12 (for M and L) – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the next st, then repeat {FPdc in the next st, dc in the next st} all the way around. Join with sl st to first dc.  (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)

Row 12 (for XS and S) or Row 13 (for M and L) – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), FPdc in the next st, then repeat {dc in the next st, FPdc in the next st} all the way around. Join with sl st to first dc.  (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)

Row 13 (for XS and S) or Row 14 (for M and L) – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the next st, then repeat {FPdc in the next st, dc in the next st} all the way around. Join with sl st to first dc.  (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)

Row 14 (for XS and S) and Row 15 (for M and L) – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the same st as joining, dc in each st all the way around.  Join with sl st to first dc.  (48, 52, 56, 60 dc)

Row 15 (for XS and S) and Row 16 (for M and L) – ch 1 (this counts as your first sc of the row), sc in each stitch all the way around to the end.  Join with st to the first sc and fasten off.  (48, 52, 56, 60 sc)
