BEANIE (6.5ā high and 15ā flat diameter)
Ch 4 and loop to make a magic ring.
Row 1 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row) and then 11 dc into the ring. Join with sl st to first dc (12 dc)
Row 2 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the same st as joining, and then 2 dc in each stitch all the way around to end. Join with sl st to first dc. (24 dc)
Row 3 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in the next st, then repeat {2 dc in the next st, dc in the next st} to the end. Join with sl st to first dc. (36 dc)
Row 4 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in same st as joining, dc in the next 3 st, then repeat {2 dc in the next st, dc in the next 4 st, 2 dc in the next st dc in the next 3 st} to the end. Join with sl st to first dc (44 dc)

TENTACLES (make 8)
Using GREY, ch 7
Row 1 – counting the first 3 ch as your first dc, dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in the next 3 st. TURN for the next row. (5 dc)
Row 2 – ch 2 (this counts as your first dc of this row), dc in the next 2 st, 2dctog in the next 2 st. TURN for the next row. (4 st)
Row 3 – ch 1, sk first st, dc in the next st, 2 dctog in the next 2 st. (2 st.)
Row 4 – CHANGE TO DARK BLUE YARN, sc in each st all the way around the rows 1-3 (approximately 15 sc – 3 along short side, 5 along long side, 2 at top and 5 at bottom). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing
Putting it together:
- Sew Tentacles over Rows 7-10 along the brim of the beanie. Using ORANGE puffy pain, paint 3 suction cups over each tentacle
- Puffy paint eyes over Rows 4-5 as you see fit, and mouth at Row 6
